BUNNY HOPPING

Bunny hopping is what allows us to maintain speed.

Speed is measured in UPS (Units Per Second).

In the below example, you will see despite not holding any movement keys, I maintain 320ups

Acceleration

Now that we know bunny hopping maintains speed, let's learn to accelerate.

First, let's learn how to accelerate by strafe jumping left. Note that I start to accelerate as I steadily turn left.

Pay attention to your speed for the "Sweet-spot".

- Turn too fast and you will lose speed.
- Turn too slow and you won't gain speed.

Maintaining a straight line

Second, strafe jumping causes you to drift in the direction of your strafe.

To correct this, we reverse the strafe keys and turn direction.

When changing your turn direction, try to get in the "Sweet-spot" as fast as possible.
